“I lost both of my parents in one year. Mom didn’t receive hospice care, but Dad was cared for in a hospice setting for the last few days of his life, and his dying process was a more peaceful, dignified transition. My parents lived in a small community in a rural state where knowledge about hospice and access to care were extremely limited. One of my major objectives as an HGF board member is to help build greater awareness of and access to hospice in this community, because it can be immeasurably valuable to a patient and their loved ones. I’m truly honored to serve on the HGF board.”
