CEO Message: October 2023
Dear Friends,
After leading Hospice Giving Foundation since 2013, I will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 30, 2024. My husband, who retired in June 2022, and I are looking forward to a new phase of our lives where we can pursue a variety of interests and spend time with family and friends. While June seems like a long time from now, it is important to me to let our supporters, providers, and colleagues know now, to give Hospice Giving Foundation ample time to fill my role and to prepare for the transition.
While change in leadership can be daunting, we also know that new leaders bring in fresh ideas, vision, and talent. Our extraordinary and highly capable board and staff are poised to usher in the next era of Hospice Giving Foundation with my successor. Having celebrated our 25th anniversary last year and with my retirement, this is the perfect time to review our successes of the past and look toward the future. Our board has engaged the firm Cook Silverman Search to facilitate the process and has appointed a dedicated board committee chaired by Barbara Collins. Anyone wishing to inquire about the CEO position should contact Victoria Silverman at [email protected].
It is an immense honor to be a part of Hospice Giving Foundation. I have personally learned so much and been so inspired by the dedicated and compassionate people who care for individuals and families through end of life. Rarely does a job provide so much opportunity to work with such committed and passionate people who are striving to make people’s lives better up to and through one’s final days. Hospice Giving Foundation’s primary role as a funder allows us to enrich our community, to make difficult times better, and to promote comfort and grace during people’s most vulnerable moments. Our education programming is built on the premise that knowledge is empowering and each of us deserves to be informed to make thoughtful decisions.
As we work together over the next many months, I look forward to focusing on our key initiatives and community projects. Our focus will continue to be on elevating end-of-life care, with specific attention to spiritual care, caregiver needs, palliative care, and bereavement. Today and always, I take great joy in Hospice Giving
Foundation’s impact locally and will always be proud of the many achievements and successes this amazing Foundation brings to our communities.
With warmest regards,
Siobhan M. Greene
