Jocelyn Kristy, Administrative Assistant
Jocelyn Kristy was born and raised in Del Rey Oaks, CA. A third-generation graduate of Monterey High School, she joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduation. During her more than six years of service as an Intelligence Analyst and Personnel Technician, Jocelyn developed a strong foundation in leadership and attention to detail. In May 2008, she returned to the Central Coast after the birth of her twin daughters in Las Vegas, NV.
Jocelyn treasures the time she spends with her daughters—one a cheerleader at Monterey High, the other a dedicated volleyball player. An avid animal lover, she shares her home with two cats and a Shih Tzu. A native of the Peninsula, Jocelyn enjoys exploring the area on her electric bike, often riding through downtown and along the scenic bike trails to take in the natural beauty of the region.
Jocelyn brings extensive experience in administrative support, having worked for a former CEO of a Fortune 500 company for over 12 years. Her commitment to supporting the needs of individuals and organizations is reflected in her dedication to performing her work with both intention and integrity.
“In 1998, just two months after arriving at my first duty station in the Air Force, I received a phone call from home stating my 50-year-old mother had been diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer and given just one year to live. Having grown up with an older brother who was born with Cystic Fibrosis, I understood the long-term prognosis my brother faced with his debilitating disease, but I never expected my mother to fall terminally ill at such a young age. I can recall feeling lost as to how to process and navigate such devastating news, while also trying to help my father navigate new territory with the impending loss of his great love. When the time came, hospice home care provided incredible comfort for my mother, and I am forever grateful for that care. I feel very lucky to be part of an organization that provides those resources and support to individuals facing such hardships in our community. In my role here at Hospice Giving Foundation, I hope to provide direction for those resources as well as empathy to those who have been in similar situations as my own.”
